STORIA DELLA CANZONE:
“(There’ll be)Peace in the valley (for me)” venne composta dal reverendo Thomas A. Dorsey, ispiratosi ad una valle che aveva visto in un suo viaggio in treno dall’Indiana a Cincinnati nel 1939. Esso si basò sullo Spiritual “We shall walk through the valley in peace”.
La prima registrazione avvenne nel 1947 da parte dei Flying Clouds Of Detroit”, ma il più grande successo fu quello del 1951 da parte di Red Foley che vendette oltre un milione di copie, raggiungendo il 7° posto della classifica Country nazionale.

PEACE IN THE VALLEY...CHE DIRE...SEMPRE E PIU'CHE MAI MERAVIGLIOSA!
Con tutto il rispetto per Red Foley...che la rese celebre vendendo ben un milione di copie...ma con Elvis davvero non c'è confronto che possa reggere...
Certo...nella Musica come del resto altrove sono le cifre a dover pesare più di tutto (anche se a volte non sono d'accordo...le cifre non possono e non devono sempre avere l'ultima parola..)...e anche se sulle cifre Elvis non fu da meno rispetto agli altri Grandi...anzi tanti record di vendite e non solo li fece proprio lui...
Non c'è niente da fare...ELVIS METTE NELLA CANZONE SEMPRE QUALCOSA IN PIU'...SEMPRE! UN DONO UNICO ED ECCEZIONALE...
Oltre alla sua meravigliosa voce...Elvis tirava fuori una sensibilità così profonda da metterla poi dentro ogni sua canzone...
Pensate che sensibilità incredibile doveva mai avere da riuscire a trasferire in ogni canzone un'umanità fuori dal comune...dava alle sue canzoni un'anima...
Spero che le mie parole non vengano viste per forza come fan accecata dalla sua bravura anche se di fronte alla bravura di Elvis non si può che restare accecati e storditi talmente era bravo e pieno di talento...
Sì...io spesso mi sento "ubriaca" di Elvis...e ne sono così FELICE!
E ringrazio sempre Dio per averlo non solo donato al mondo e per questo per averlo "regalato" anche a me... ma che mi abbia anche dato la capacità di gustarmelo in ogni sua più piccola espressione...da riuscire a comprenderlo tutto per intero e lasciarmi prendere completamente da tutto il suo essere...e da farmi dire ogni volta: MERAVIGLIOSO!!!
