Elvis 80: nuovo prodotto celebrativo della sony

Per celebrare l'ottantesimo anniversario della nascita di Elvis la SONY sta pianificando un nuovo "Greatest Hits".

Si dovrebbe trattare di un triplo CD con 80 tracce, una per ogni anno trascorso dalla nascita di Elvis e dovrebbe uscire ai primi di Dicembre.

Vien voglia di scrivere alla Sony, ed essere volgari, postando le immagini dei cd + libro della Gravel Road, e dicendo loro che i cd-compilation Sony se li possono ficcare proprio in quel posto! Dementi !!!

Vorrei aver la macchina del tempo, per tornare indietro di dieci-quindici anni, quando la BMG sfornava cose eccelse, soprattutto in occasione di eventi importanti (ricordiamo solo il periodo del 25° anniversario della scomparsa di Elvis; per TUTTO il 2002, le tv e le radio erano piene di Elvis, senza contare le numerose emissioni speciali, il fortunatissimo remix "A Little Less Conversation" e relativo spot Nike, e tantissimo altro ancora).

A tale proposito, ecco un parere di un fan, letto sul WEB, che mi trova, purtroppo, d'accordo:

"Sony, or before BMG, RCA or whaterver the name is of the company owning the copyright to Elvis recordings at the time are only interested in the profit. They don't care about his legacy as long as it doesn't affect the sales. And if you look at the sales and the chart possitions it is releases like this that normally do better, not the type of cd's we longtime fans would buy. Even during his life 'G.I. Blues' did much better than 'Elvis Is Back' and 'Pure Gold' did better than 'Today' or 'Promised Land'. This album will sell better than a cd of newly found unreleased outtakes (if there were any) whether we like it or not!".
